‘Septembre en Or’ is the month dedicated to raising awareness of and fighting paediatric cancers, and this year marks its 10th anniversary.

Against this backdrop, the 2nd Scientific Symposium for the General Public organised by the ‘Enfants Cancers Santé’ Federation took place in Marseille on 18 and 19 September in the stunning setting of Fort Ganteaume, which overlooks the Old Port.

Attended by the scientific management team of INCa, the Chief Executive of AP-HM, the President of the French Society for Paediatric Cancers and the Deputy Mayor of Marseille responsible for health, the event brought together more than 120 people.

Bringing together researchers, doctors, volunteers and families committed to the fight against childhood cancers, these two days provided an opportunity for discussion through accessible scientific presentations and round-table discussions.

One key issue was therefore discussed: the funding of paediatric oncology research, as well as the crucial role played by charities in supporting and accelerating scientific progress for the benefit of children with cancer.

Against this backdrop, Eddy PASQUIER was invited to present the latest developments in the project supported by the Fédération Enfants – Cancers – Santé and received a donation of 65,000 euros, enabling his team to purchase a new microscope.

A big thank you to Enfants, Cancers, Santé for their continued and ongoing support for paediatric oncology research teams, without which these research projects would not be able to make such progress. The date has already been set for Saturday 18 September 2027 for the third Enfants, Cancers, Santé scientific symposium for the general public in Marseille.
