Comet

The CoMET department, headed by Drs Sophie Vasseur and Christophe Ginestier, brings together six research teams dedicated to understanding the mechanisms of cancer cell survival, plasticity, dissemination and resistance. By integrating the tumor microenvironment, this work aims to discover targets for new therapies.

CoMET has some sixty members exploring the tumor ecosystem, with a focus on tumor metabolism, intercellular communication and intratumoral heterogeneity. Four major initiatives, 3D-Hub-O, ST-omics, CEEVEC, and Met'Connect, are developing new tools and models (Organoids, Spatial-omics, extracellular vesicles) to decipher the interaction between cells and the impact on cellular and metabolic reprogramming.

The ultimate goal is to offer innovative clinical tools to improve the therapeutic management of cancer patients.
