We are recruiting a Group Leader in Onco‑Hematology / Immuno‑Oncology

The Cancer Research Center of Marseille (CRCM) is inviting applications for a Group Leader position to establish a new research team within the Onco‑Hematology and Immuno‑Oncology Department (OHIO). This position is intended to enhance our capability for basic science and/or translational research capacity at the intersection of basic mechanisms, innovative therapies and clinical implementation in hematologic cancers and cancer immunology.

With over 450 collaborators spread across four departments, including the OHIO Department, the CRCM is an international research center affiliated with Inserm, CNRS, Aix‑Marseille University and the Paoli‑Calmettes Cancer Institute (IPC). The CRCM brings together interdisciplinary teams working on oncogenesis, tumor microenvironment, immune responses to cancer and biomarker discovery. It works closely with the IPC, a nonprofit general hospital with recognized expertise in the field of hematologic malignancies and early-phase clinical trials of cutting-edge therapies.

The appointed Group Leader will establish an innovative research program in onco‑hematology and/or immuno‑oncology, emphasizing a robust fundamental/translational aspects and seamless integration within the CRCM–IPC ecosystem.

The successful candidate will receive a start-up package and have a privileged access to cutting-edge technological platforms for multi-omics (including proteomics, single-cell, genomics, and spatial-omics), imaging and flow cytometry (including Immunomonitoring), drug screening and testing, and computational biology. The integrated CRCM–IPC environment offers direct access to patient samples and cohorts, and early‑phase trials at IPC, providing a unique framework for ambitious translational research.

The CRCM will provide engaged mentoring to the selected candidate to obtain a tenure position (CNRS or Inserm) and to secure extra funding (ATIPE/Avenir, INCa, ANR, ERC etc..). Researchers with permanent positions are also invited to apply.

Qualifications & Engagement

• Required qualifications: Ph.D. and/or M.D./Ph.D. in relevant fields (hematology, oncology, immunology or related life/medical sciences), with a strong track record in cancer research.
• Skills: Scientific excellence, innovation, team leadership, ability to develop collaborative and translational projects.
• Scientific engagement: High‑impact publications, proven ability to obtain competitive funding.
