Solidarity run
3 March 2026From February 4 to 6, 2026, the first edition of the CRCM Symposium brought together researchers, clinicians, and young scientists in Marseille to discuss major advances in oncology. Held in the exceptional setting of the Palais du Pharo, the event fostered three days of scientific exchange and international collaboration.
The first day featured keynote speeches by Professors Rene Bernards and Alissa Weaver, who opened the symposium with inspiring perspectives on cancer research. The day concluded with 180-second scientific presentations, during which CRCM doctoral and postdoctoral students presented their projects to patient associations and conference participants, promoting dialogue between science and society.
The second day highlighted innovative therapeutic strategies, particularly those involving antibody–drug conjugates, PROTACs, treatment resistance mechanisms, and tumor plasticity. Nearly 30 posters were also presented during the Poster Session, providing an ideal forum for scientific exchange, particularly for young researchers. The afternoon session explored issues related to the tumor microenvironment and cellular interactions that influence cancer progression.
The final day was devoted to translational research, with presentations covering major topics such as pediatric cancers, tumor immunity, metastatic spread, precision medicine, and innovative clinical trials. Discussions also highlighted advances in pancreatic cancer research.
Among the highlights of the symposium, the poster and oral presentation awards recognized the work of young scientists: Julie Lafont, Zeinab Homayed, Mélissa Chapeau, and Claire Zobouyan.
The CRCM Symposium 2026 was organized with the support of the ARC Foundation for Cancer Research, the French Cancer Society (SFC), Canceropôle PACA, the League Against Cancer, and the City of Marseille, confirming the importance of scientific collaboration in advancing cancer research.
