Its aim is to improve knowledge of cancer biology and medicine through a continuum of fundamental, translational and clinical research. <\/p>\n\n<p>The &#8220;DNA Damage and Genome Instability&#8221; team, led by Dr Vincent Pag\u00e8s, is part of CRCM&#8217;s &#8220;Genome Integrity&#8221; department. This team aims to understand the biological consequences of damaged genome replication, which is the main source of point mutations and the initial cause of cancer. Recently, Dr. Pag\u00e8s&#8217; team developed a new method for introducing a single lesion into the genome of a living cell<em>(bacteria and yeast<\/em>), in order to monitor the fate of this lesion in vivo.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The aim of the proposed postdoctoral research project is to explore the genetic and molecular mechanisms of DNA damage tolerance pathways in the yeast <em>Saccharomyces cerevisiae<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Profile required:<\/strong><br\/>The candidate must hold a PhD in molecular biology or a related field, and must have knowledge of DNA damage. Experience in yeast genetics is recommended but not mandatory. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Position:<\/strong><br\/>The position is currently open and funded for 2.5 years by a grant from the ARC Foundation.
